Brian Bushwell, CLU®, LUTCF, CLTC is a seasoned life insurance and employee benefits professional.  He specializes in helping successful people and small businesses protect their family and the assets they have worked so hard to accumulate.

A native of Livingston, NJ, Brian earned a bachelor's degree in insurance from Barney School of Business at The University of Hartford in 1989. He started his financial services career in 1989 with Phoenix Home Life where he worked for 11 years. 

In 2001, Brian left Phoenix Home Life and co-founded The Strategic Wealth Group, a life insurance and financial planning firm. Shortly thereafter, Brian and his colleagues at Strategic Wealth Group became an office of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he is a leading producer and manager.

In 2010, the University of Hartford Alumni Association awarded Brian the prestigious Anchor Award from the Barney School of Business. This award recognizes alumni who have reached the highest level of professional accomplishment and possess absolute standards of integrity and character that positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the University.

Over Brian’s 21 year career he has been the recipient of numerous industry awards and is a perennial MetLife Chairman’s Council qualifier. In addition, Brian is a Top of The Table Member of The Million Dollar Round Table – an achievement attained by less than two tenths of 1% of the 350,000 professional life insurance producers worldwide.

In 2010 Brian was inducted into the prestigious MetLife Hall of Fame. Over MetLife’s 150 year history, his induction into the Hall of Fame was in record time. Brian is a frequent industry speaker and has served on numerous industry advisory boards.

Brian is heavily involved with his community. He serves on various committees and coaches  Little League Baseball and various other youth sports. Brian is a resident of Livingston, NJ with his wife Joy and their three sons, Griffin, Hunter and Logan.
